Marcin Zdunik at the Kraków Philharmonic
17 February 2012, 7:30pm
18 February 2012, 6pm
Although the cellist Marcin Zdunik is still a student, his busy concert schedule often makes you wonder when he ever finds time to study. He has won awards at all the competitions he has taken part in, at times leaving all other competitors miles behind (in 2007 he not only won the 6th Lutosławski International Cello Competition in Warsaw, but he also won the Grand Prix, two special awards and seven other distinctions). Adam Rozlach, journalist and critic, explained Zdunik’s nomination for a “Polityka” weekly Passport: “He enchants with his musicality, sensitivity, imagination and incredible ability. An outstanding soloist and seasoned chamber musician”. Marcin Zdunik will play at the Philharmonic on 17 and 18 February, performing Penderecki’s Cello concerto No. 2. (Barbara Skowrońska)
