Passages and Repassages
Exhibition on the centenary of the Ethnographic Museum in Kraków.
“Passages and Repassages” is not just an exhibition. The unique collections of the Museum are inspiring on a number of levels. One of the effects of this inspiration is a trilingual book of the same title. The texts included in the book make you realise the immensity of the world which is hidden in museum spaces.

Ethnographers, psychologists, sociologists, philosophers, art historians, and writers have managed to ferret out the sources for topics, which are something across being contemporary, uneasy, even irritating. They speak about memory, of excessiveness, loneliness, and end up looking at an unassuming item from the collection, or taking a new look at the work of Nikifor – the most famous Polish naïve painter. The strength of each of these texts is based on a unique and personal view of the author, which penetrates each object to find the people and worlds hidden within them.
