Since 1945, the first Thursday in December (this year 1 December) has been a celebration of Kraków’s nativity scenes. Their makers gather at the Adam Mickiewicz monument and at high noon they walk round the Sukiennice to the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków

Bourgeois house (permanent)

The exhibition "Bourgeois house" shows characteristics of different interiors as they had changed over the centuries. We can be sure that this is the way; former rich citizens of Krakow lived. Furniture, paintings, fabrics, various objects and the decoration perfectly simulate the climate of past times and its habitants.

The permanent exhibition is presented in Silesian House at Pomorska Street. The exhibition consists of photographs, documents, pinups and propaganda posters, and miscellaneous items – items self-made by prisoners, weapons, uniforms, also items connected with Jewish ghetto in Krakow and the Holocaust.

People of Kraków in Times of Terror 1939-1945-1956 (permanent)

In June 2011, the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków opens its new permanent exhibition at the Silesian House on Pomorska Street. After Oskar Schindler's Factory and the Eagle Pharmacy in the former Jewish ghetto, this is the next site on the museum's Route of Remembrance.
