Stanisław Wyspiański works gallery
The exhibition at Szołayski House presents various pieces by Wyspiański and others from his world. There are also portraits of the then visitors of exhibitions, galleries and museums, art collectors and experts, friends of artists and models, both professional as well as amateur – farmers from Bronowice.
The Museum explores all the artistic domains in the rich output of Stanisław Wyspiański, the most illustrious and the most versatile artist of Young Poland. He was a poet, playwright, painter, designer, typographer, art conservator and city planner.
Wyspiański mastered the pastel technique and used it in many of his works. Among them are portraits of children captured in their everyday dress and situations, such as Mietek Asleep (1902), A Study Of A Child. Helenka With A Vase and Flowers (1902), A Study Of A Child. Mietek (1904), as well as effigies of people from the art circles he mingled with, for example Portrait of Adam Chmiel or Portrait of Wilhelm Feldman (1904).
