MAXXI: the Culture Factory – lecture by Pio Baldi
27 March 2012, 6pm
The MAXXI – National Museum of the 21st Century Arts is a national museum dedicated to contemporary creativity, located in the Flaminio neighbourhood of Rome, Italy. It is managed by a foundation created by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. It was designed as a multidisciplinary space by Zaha Hadid and committed to experimentation and innovation in the arts and architecture.
The programming of the activities – exhibitions, workshops, conferences, shows, projections, educational projects – reflects MAXXI’s vocation as a place for the conservation and exhibition of its collections but also, and above all, a laboratory for cultural experimentation and innovation, for the study, research and production of the aesthetic contents of out time. Pio Baldi, the architect and eseist, president of the MAXXI Foundation, will tell us about all the aspects of MAXXI activity, starting from 1998 until 2010.
The lecture, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute and the International Cultural Centre, in the frames of the cycle devoted to the italian Art and architecture, will be held in Italian with Polish translation.
